Findings
- Services are available but patchy for community nonforensic service users across the region but only a minority of people with personality disorder seem able to access their treatment.
- Services are more readily available in high, medium and low secure forensic settings for both men and women with personality disorder in the NHS and independent sector. However, there is a limited level of specialist forensic services within community-based settings.
- There is some adherence to Government policy standards for the treatment of personality disorder across services in the region, but there is a wide disparity in the service models adopted in bothforensic and non-forensic settings
