Undiscovered burden of liver disease
Who this applies to:
General Practitioners and their patients.
Findings and implications...
• The incidence of liver disease is rising.
• Current methods for detecting significant liver disease are inadequate.
• A new pathway using non-invasive tests (biomarkers) is feasible to classify risk of liver disease in primary care.
• The findings of our study are promising, but further work is needed to test and assess the new pathway in other locations.
